Further Education (FE) is the full-time study that you do after school for up to 3 years before seeking work or attending university.

Further education for young people usually comes between the end of secondary education and the start of Higher Education at age 16-19. Adults can attend a further education college at any point. Further education programmes will usually go up to Level 3 and are often designed to provide the skills to advance to Higher Education. It includes many different qualification types such as NVQs, A Levels and BTEC Level 2 Firsts, VTCT and BTEC Level 3 Extended Diplomas.
